Thomas R. Diehl is a retired Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation with 30 years experience, a BA from Cornell College, and a MA from Central Michigan University. He has a record of successful accomplishments in violent crime, white collar crime, public / police corruption, organized crime and terrorism as an FBI agent. Tom was a certified FBI Instructor and served as a FBI Hostage Negotiator.

Tom was a multi-agency Command Center Supervisor during the 1996 Olympic Games. He was a recipient of one of the U.S. Attorney’s “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” awards in 1988, regarding a child kidnapping case, while supervising the Naples, Florida FBI office.

Tom has served as a security consultant to companies seeking advice on protection of their operations from external threats and internal theft. He has conducted over 100 mortgage fraud investigations during his years in the private sector. He has extensive experience in conducting employee background investigations and field investigations for insurance companies, law firms and school systems. Tom has experience working for major corporations as well as civil and criminal defense attorneys to include a death penalty case, and several high profile criminal sexual conduct cases.

Tom managed a private investigative firm in Georgia for seven years following his retirement from the FBI. On January 1, 2008 Tom established Diehl & Associates Investigations and he is a Licensed Private Detective by the State of Michigan.

Janet H. Diehl has a BS in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Georgia College, and a Master of Public Administration from Georgia College and State University. She is a former law enforcement officer, has worked in the insurance industry as a claims adjustor and served the State of Georgia as a child support enforcement agent, prior to employment as a private investigator for six years in Atlanta, Georgia.

Janet has received extensive training and earned continuing education credits in areas to include: Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Behavior Modification, Para Verbal Communication and Substance Abuse in Adolescents. She has extensive experience working with and interviewing adolescents.

Janet has conducted investigations for trucking companies regarding stolen tractors & trailers and theft of goods. She has worked major fraud cases with various credit unions and banks, mortgage fraud matters for various mortgage insurance companies and child custody cases. Janet has worked writ of possession investigations and sexual harassment cases. She has extensive experience conducting field investigations for major companies and civil and criminal attorneys. She conducts information technology searches regarding pre-employment backgrounds, assets searches, due diligence, records checks and locating people. She has experience investigating motor vehicle accidents and sexual criminal conduct cases.

Janet serves as an Ambassador for the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a partner of Diehl & Associates Investigations and is a Licensed Private Detective by the State of Michigan.
